When it comes to boating safety, many accidents could have easily been prevented had the boat operator been traveling at the posted speed!

Waterway speed limits have been established based on safe operating conditions for the area. You need to know the posted speeds, and then follow them. Failure to comply jeopardizes the safety and well-being of your crew, along with others who are sharing the waterway.

As good stewards of our area waterways coast to coast, Freedom Boat Club members are  expected to follow the speed limits and to use good practices and common sense in all boating operations. If you don’t know speed limits or other restrictions in the area where you are boating, consult with the dockmaster BEFORE departure.
