About Oakland-Jack London Square
Situated along the estuary, Jack London Square is Oakland’s only publicly accessible mixed-use waterfront and marina area that has been a well-known landmark since the mid-1800s. As a lifestyle destination, Jack London Square offers visitors and local residents an authentic, vibrant hub of outdoor recreation, dining, special events, and entertainment opportunities.
Steeped in maritime lore, Jack London Square is one of Oakland’s most identifiable landmarks and a symbol of the city’s history as a seaport. Fronting a natural estuary leading to San Francisco Bay, the site was the heart of Oakland’s port operations, linking the industries of shipping and agriculture. Jack London (January 12, 1876 – November 22, 1916) was an American author who spent much of his boyhood on the waterfront that is now Jack London Square. His youthful adventures on property, inspired many of his publications.

I love this experience. You show up to the dock, pick up your boat and get out on the water. When you are done, you drop off the keys and leave.

Freedom Boat Club is truly unlimited boating. We allow up to 4 rolling reservations at any given time. Simply put – you can have 4 reservations on the books. Once you use one, you free one up. You may book up to 6 months in advance!
