About Portsmouth
Mike and Jake Goodridge have been involved in the local boating community for over 30 years. The Portsmouth location was founded in 2008, following the opening of Newburyport in 2006.
Prior to FBC, Mike and Jake were in the marine towing and salvage industry and also owned a boat brokerage operation. Once they discovered Freedom Boat Club, they saw it as a revolutionary break-through in boating and a great option for many local boaters.
Due to the success of the boat club, Mike and Jake acquired Yankee Landing Marina (our Newburyport home) in 2017 and Jake was listed as a Boating Industry 40 Under 40 honoree in 2019.

We’ve taken care to select a variety of quality boats. And we always keep them clean and maintained. We also take care of the storage, insurance and repairs. So you can just focus on the fun!

Get Unlimited Training from Licensed Captains
Your safety is our No. 1 concern. So we give all our members unlimited training with certified captains. And if you wish to boat in a new location, they’ll show you the waterways.
Take Any Boat Out as Often as You Wish
Reserve a boat by phone or online. Then go fishing, tubing or head to a restaurant with friends. When you’re done, just bring the boat back and pay for the fuel. We take care of everything else!

Best boating decision I've ever made. But it's more than that. Being a RI member means you enjoy access to the beautiful facilities at many of the Brewers Marinas. It's basically like a country club on the ocean.
I have been a member for 7 years and truly pleased with the value the club provides. I am most impressed with the cleanliness and reliability of the boats. This is clearly a sign of the service and attention to detail that the staff provide to the members. Another great feature that I enjoy is the carefree obligations at the end of my trip. The dock staff help me unload my personal belongings and gear and even help me load it into my vehicle.

Reserving a boat has never been easier. Simply log in to your reservation dashboard and choose your desired date, vessel, and time slot.
Freedom Boat Club is truly unlimited boating. We allow up to 4 rolling reservations at any given time. Simply put – you can have 4 reservations on the books. Once you use one, you free one up. You may book up to 6 months in advance!
