Buffalonians are having more fun on our expansive shoreline than at any other time in history. With hundreds of millions of dollars invested in the Inner and Outer harbor, Buffalo's waterfront is truly the "center of fun" for Western New York!
From our home at Safe Harbor Marina, Freedom Boat Club members can head to Lake Erie for some nationally renowned bass and walleye fishing, tubing and waterskiing, or a leisurely cruise. If the chop builds in the lake, no worries. The Buffalo waterfront is protected by a 5 mile break-wall providing easy access to the protected waters of the Upper Niagara River and the Buffalo River. Boat accessible restaurants and activities from Canalside to the Riverworks Development, and the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park along the Buffalo River will provide lasting memories for you and your crew.
When the day comes to a close, Buffalo is among the few cities in the Eastern United States that enjoys spectacular sunsets over the water. One of the best spots for your Lake Erie sunset is at the Safe Harbor Marina on the boat or the patio of Charlie's Boatyard.

Just pay a one-time entry fee and select one of our membership plans. Your local Club will have a variety of plans to match your recreational boating needs.
Get Unlimited Training from Licensed Captains
Your safety is our No. 1 concern. So we give all our members unlimited training with certified captains. And if you wish to boat in a new location, they’ll show you the waterways.
Take Any Boat Out as Often as You Wish
Reserve a boat by phone or online. Then go fishing, tubing or head to a restaurant with friends. When you’re done, just bring the boat back and pay for the fuel. We take care of everything else!

Love going out on the water to enjoy a little relaxation and sometimes alot of fun with some pull behind tubes or even fishing (which I have not done in a very long time). Can't think of a better way to spend the day.
I did a reciprocal here last summer. Had a great time on the water. Great tips, great boat, had a blast. Plan to come back again soon.

Come by water or land... No matter how you arrive, join us for lunch or dinner and enjoy one of our signature dishes in our updated dining room. Or stop in for drinks with friends on our outdoor patio. If you're just out and about taking in Buffalo's Outer Harbor, drop in for a Charlap's ice cream from our grab and go window.
The pricing structure is much like a country club. You will pay a one-time entry fee and monthly dues based on the membership that you choose. Connect with the club nearest you to learn more about membership options and current promotions!
Reserving a boat has never been easier. Simply log in to your reservation dashboard and choose your desired date, vessel, and time slot.
Freedom Boat Club is truly unlimited boating. We allow up to 4 rolling reservations at any given time. Simply put – you can have 4 reservations on the books. Once you use one, you free one up. You may book up to 6 months in advance!
