The Southport Freedom Boat Club has easy access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, making our location ideal for both the experienced or inexperienced boater. As part of the Southport Freedom Boat Club we offer educational classes for boating as well as a mandatory boating safety class for all club members. At Freedom Boat Club we want to make sure your boating experienced is as stress-free and maintenance-free as possible. That’s why we are continually growing our club with new members every day. We believe in strong customer service as well as a friendly atmosphere where our members can access a boat of their choice and enjoy more time on the water. That’s what boating is all about, and joining Freedom Boat Club is your first step in making the right decision for you and your family when it comes to investing in boating.

Long serving as a protective boating harbor, Southport is situated at the mouth of the Cape Fear River, the Intracoastal waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. However, the city itself is noted for its quiet beauty and hospitality. Sprawling oaks and historic homes set a nostalgic scene reminiscent of gentle, laid-back times. But don't be fooled. Laden with antique shops, historic sites, restaurants, art galleries, parks, and the Southport Maritime Museum, there is much to do if you seek a little bustling activity.
Bald Head Island is well worth a day trip, featuring stunning natural environments. Stroll or relax on the beaches or visit one of many attractions here. Oak Island is also ideal for exploring and boasts the Oak Island Lighthouse in Caswell Beach.

Get Unlimited Training from Licensed Captains
Your safety is our No. 1 concern. So we give all our members unlimited training with certified captains. And if you wish to boat in a new location, they’ll show you the waterways.
Take Any Boat Out as Often as You Wish

- We take care of the maintenance, cleaning, repair, insurance and storage
- Fleet (which varies by location) includes bowriders, pontoons, offshore/inshore fishing boats (center consoles), deck boats and wake boats

The pricing structure is much like a country club. You will pay a one-time entry fee and monthly dues based on the membership that you choose. Connect with the club nearest you to learn more about membership options and current promotions!
Reserving a boat has never been easier. Simply log in to your reservation dashboard and choose your desired date, vessel, and time slot.
Freedom Boat Club is truly unlimited boating. We allow up to 4 rolling reservations at any given time. Simply put – you can have 4 reservations on the books. Once you use one, you free one up. You may book up to 6 months in advance!
