ABOUT
HALIFAX HARBOUR
One of the world’s deepest, ice-free harbours and home of Canada’s East Coast Navy, Halifax Harbour is sheltered and spacious with minimal currents and tides. An outer area 2 kilometers wide by 8 kilometers long leads into an inner harbour (Bedford Basin) boasting depths of 18 – 38 meters. Rib fests, Buskers Festival, Comedy Fest, Jazz Festival, Tall ships, and Fringe Film festival are just a few of the events on our waterfronts. You can also visit a restored 200 year old fishing village at Fisherman’s Cove, Eastern Passage. Whether you like to fish, dine in fabulous high end or casual restaurants, shop, hike on McNab’s Island, explore historic George’s Island and its military history, enjoy nearby attractions, or simply watch vessel traffic from around the world, this location has something for everyone!
Notice of Temporary Relocation: Freedom Boat Club Nova Scotia – Halifax Site
After a spectacular first-ever Canadian Sail Grand Prix Event in 2024, Halifax is again proud to be hosting Canada’s SailGP races on June 21 and 22 this year. The Kings Wharf Marina will be the Tech Site for this incredible event, and full and exclusive access to the Marina is necessary to prepare for and operate the Tech Site. To facilitate this, Freedom Boat Club NS has temporarily relocated from our usual location at the Kings Wharf Marina in Dartmouth on the east side of Halifax Harbour to the west side of the Harbour at 367 Bedford Highway at Birch Cove on the site of the Sagar Ratan Restaurant and Bedford Basin Beer Garden.

How much is it? Are there different membership options?
The pricing structure is much like a country club. You will pay a one-time entry fee and monthly dues based on the membership that you choose. Connect with the club nearest you to learn more about membership options and current promotions!
How do I make a reservation?
Reserving a boat has never been easier. Simply log in to your reservation dashboard and choose your desired date, vessel, and time slot.
How much can I boat?
We allow up to 4 rolling reservations at any given time. Simply put – you can have 4 reservations on the books. Once you use one, you free one up. You may book up to 6 months in advance!
How many boats do you have?
Number and type of boats will vary by location. Connect with the club nearest you to learn more about the local fleet.
